Our Story
North West Rubber Ltd., (NWR) was founded in 1968 in Pitt Meadows, British Columbia, Canada.
In the late ’60’s and early ’70’s, the company picked up scrap tires and buffings from the local area, ground them up, and manufactured rubber mats. These mats were used for agricultural applications, ice rinks, gyms, and pick-up truck beds. If you are in the Recreational Flooring industry, you will likely recognize the name Red Barn – our trademark since 1972 under which we market all of our Recreational Flooring products.
Today, NWR is one of the largest rubber mat manufacturers in the world. We own and operate manufacturing facilities in British Columbia, Ontario, China and Texas (2019). Our products are distributed around the world.
